The Sarasota Sailing Squadron offers sailing instruction for beginning sailors with on the water training on their 17′ O’Day Sailer or Hobie Wave with an instructor. The on-water instruction last for approximately 2 hours each day for 2 days. The two day schedule is arranged based on the weather and availability at the time of registration. Each student is given a printed curriculum to amplify the class content. The objective is to introduce new sailors to the water immediately emphasizing safety and good sailing techniques. The cost to Non-members of the Squadron is $200 and to members is $160.
- For those Squadron members who participate in the SSN program and pass the rental competency check out, up to a $80. credit can be applied to the Unlimited annual rental program.
Each student must wear a PDF, life-vest, etc. and close toed shoes. Sun screen, hat, sun glasses, and water bottle are recommended. The student will start by reviewing the rigging with the instructor and be immersed in the amazing world of sailing immediately. Come join the fun.
