- RULESThe regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing(RRS). If there is a conflict between the NOR and the Sailing Instructions, the Sailing Instructions will take precedence.
- NOTICES TO COMPETITORSNotices to competitors will be posted on the official notice board located on the pavilion on the north side of the club.
- CHANGES TO SAILING INSTRUCTIONSAny change to the sailing instructions will be posted before 10:30 AM on the day it will take effect.
- SIGNALS MADE ASHORE
- Signals made ashore will be displayed from the flagpole in front of the clubhouse.
- When flag AP is displayed ashore, ‘1 minute’ is replaced by ‘not less than 30 minutes’ in the race signal AP.

- Three races are planned. One race constitutes a regatta.
- To alert boats that a race will begin soon, the Race Committee may give a courtesy series of sound signals. Lack of this courtesy does not constitute grounds for protest or redress.

- A blue Sunfish logo centered on a white rectangle.
- A blue Opti logo centered on a white rectangle.
- A blue 420 logo centered on a white rectangle.
- A blue FS logo centered on a white rectangle.
- RACING AREA
The racing area will be in Sarasota Bay
- THE COURSES
- The diagrams in Attachment I shows the planned courses, the order in which the marks are to be passed and the side on which the mark is to be left.
- No later than the warning signal, the race committee signal boat will display the course to be sailed.
- The Start/Finish line may only be crossed when either starting or finishing a race.
- Primary marks are round red balls. Additional weather marks may be set and may vary in distance and color. If additional marks are used, the PRO will disclose their color and placement at the skippers' meeting.
- Additional courses may be added at the PRO's discretion and announced at the skippers' meeting.
- The starting and finishing mark will be a round red ball.
- THE START
- Each boat shall check in at the race committee signal boat before the first race of the day prior to the preparatory signal.
- The starting line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the race committee signal boat at the starboard end and the course side of the port end starting mark.
- Boats whose warning signal has not been made shall avoid the starting area during the starting sequence for other races.
- The order and combination in which fleets start is determined by the PRO and may change from race to race.
- A boat starting later than 5 minutes after her starting signal will be scored DNS without a hearing. This changes rule A.4.
- CHANGE OF THE NEXT LEG OF THE COURSETo change the next leg of the course, the race committee will move the original mark (or finishing line) to a new position. Changes will be signaled in accordance with RRS 33.
- THE FINISHThe finishing line will be between a staff displaying an orange flag on the race committee signal boat and the finishing mark.
- TIME LIMITBoats failing to finish within 15 minutes after the first boat in its class sails the course and finishes will be scored DNF without a hearing. This changes RRS 35, A4 and A5.
- PROTESTS AND REQUESTS FOR REDRESSProtest forms are available outside the Club Office. Protests and requests for redress shall be delivered
there within 30 minutes after the race committee boat docks.
- SCORINGLow Point System of Appendix A RRS will be used except all races will count. This changes RRS A2.
- DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITYCompetitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta. See RRS 67 (c) Damages.
