Twelve skippers competed in our last Sunday Fall Series Race. While a couple of participants ventured off course to the East side of the bay, others who had IC-16 in their GPS’s gained a lot of ground and placed a few clicks higher than those heading North. Reagan-E sailed up from Venice and joined our sailing fleet. Skipper Rolf Hahn is tuning up for our big Labor Day regatta. The schedule for the WFPHRF “Motley” Boat of the year series of ten races over the next eight months has now been finalized. We will be sailing a “pursuit” style race for this series. This is a “casual” sailing event where we hope to get lots of boats on the race course without the fear of being run over at the starting line.
Volunteers still needed for Labor Day regatta
Give Joanne a call in the office and offer to give the Squadron up to four hours of your time. We still have several spots open and would appreciate your contribution of TIME.
We are still expecting around 200+ entries and over 500 guests on our squadron grounds during the weekend.
On the Horizon
A couple of squadron race events are being brought back to life. The former “Bikini Cup” will be resurrected and will now be called, “ladies at the helm”. Men are welcome onboard the boat, but can not touch the helm or sheets during the race. A single handed race is also going to be put on our fall sailing schedule. Stay Tuned!!!!
