Great turnout at the 3rd Annual Turkey Run

Wow!!! Great sailing results this past weekend at the 3rd Annual Turkey Run hosted by Regatta Pointe Marina in Palmetto; a 10.73nm pursuit race which is a SBYA Boat of the Year event.  17 entrees and 7 were from SSS. The easterly breeze was brisk with 20+ knot and gusty. It was again a catamaran Stiletto 27, this time Iguana, that started last and finished first!  Member Dean Cleall sailing Catastrophie had equipment problems and had to take a DNF....

Solitude with sail maker Knighton aboard nosed out his own ship Pardon You, skippered by Bob Revou by a mere 48 seconds and RunAway held on for dear life in the 20knt + winds to take third in the Non-Spin division.

John Huber's Green Flash finished third in the cruising division and Peter Robinson aboard Nellie, a 22' MacGregor never gave up even after he was finally passed by the rest of the fleet.  Great job of organization by Nana Bosma and her U-Boat team.....

Landside events on Friday and Saturday took place on the 3rd floor of the end-of-the-dock facility, providing wonderful ambience and great sunset views over the Manatee River. All had a enjoyable time!
