The MC and E Scow Fleets are very active this winter with the return of our Snowbirds. On Wednesday, October 12th,we had seven E Scows (25 sailors) on a triangle course with a north wind from 12 to 14 knots. We had plenty of conflicts at the weather mark as port tackers tried to squeeze in before the starboard tackers reached the mark.Given the wind,it took about 18 minutes per race, and as always we do not keep count of finishes.
We will hold E Scow races every Wednesday afternoon. Potential crews are asked to arrive by noon to be assigned a boat. We try to start racing by 1PM.
Upcoming Regattas for E Scows are the Drumstick Regatta November 22, Commodore’s Cup December 6th, Hangover Regatta January 1 and the Snow Bird Regatta January 24.
The MC Fleet will race every Friday afternoon with start times of 1PM. The MC Fleet will hold several Saturday events. MC Series I will be on Saturdays, November 15th and 29th, December 20th, January 3rd and 17th. We plan to hold 5 races on each day using the outside course with timed starts and recorded results for the series.
We will also have our E and MC Scow Christmas party on December 13th at the Weihes.
