Flying Scots Host MIdwinter Regatta

Congrats to all who volunteered to help make this year’s Flying Scot Midwinter Regatta a great success. A special commendation to John Pether who, over the ¬†past year, herded all of us cats in one direction to make everything come together for the regatta. We had fleet and squadron volunteers at registration, greeting, parking, measuring, food, race committee, markboats, keg duties, awards, scoring, hoist. It takes a lot of effort to have a great regatta so, job well done gang. The support of the squadron staff and volunteers the squadron is really really appreciated. Also I’m sure the RC appreciated very much running the races from Jim Egans comfortable sailboat! Again THANK YOU to all that volunteered and congrats to all for putting on a super regatta. We had great results in the regatta from fleet 36 members ¬†with 3 of the top 10 places, Zeke and Jay Horowitz in JaMing finished 2nd (tie breaker with 1st) Serge in 9th and Patchwork Princess in 10th. In the 22 boat challenger division, Serenity (Team ChuckNorris) sailed to 2nd and Randy R. in Dream Weaver took 3rd. Also recognized at the regatta was Ron Pletsch, sharing the sportsmanship award with Amy Linton.
We have 2 more fleet dates on this season’s schedule. April 4th and 18th. Also in April is the Sailfest Regatta April 11-12 and the Sarasota Bay Cup April 25th.scot start
