Flying Scots Spring Sailing

Wow, what a great turnout of Flying Scots for our fleet racing last Saturday. We had 11 boats racing on another chamber of commerce day on Sarasota Bay. Thank you to Andy (MC sailor) and his team for taking on the RC duties and running 3 good races for our fleet. The most challenging part of the day was getting to the starting line as beating into the light and shifty northerly was pretty frustrating. After a brief postponement for the breeze to settle in we were rewarded with an afternoon of sailing on the 10-15kt breeze. We sailed 2 “H-I” courses and one “H-D-I race. Super to see Tom out racing with Dalton showing him the ropes. We bid adios for the summer to Three Sheets. We also welcome Karen, who relocated to this area from the Great Northeast, crewing on Against the Wind. Leprechaun sailed consistently (3,5,3) to tally a third for the day. Eightball won the second race and took second for the day. Serenity roared to a win in the last race to clinch a win for the day. Once again very tight throughout the fleet. After a nice wind down run back up the bay to the squadron, ¬†we gathered on the dock under the shade to enjoy libations and snacks. Next race date for us is May 16. See you there.
