We had a super turnout of 14 Flying Scots racing last Saturday. As race committee, Mike and Jim did a good job of getting us to the line on time and we got in 3 good races. The breeze was around 5 to 10 from the south with variations in strengths and directions to keep us guessing. Seas were flat making for some smooth sailing conditions. Lucky Dog was 3rd in the Challenger division just behind Wind Up Toy. Winning the Challenger division in his debut race date was Jeff Curtin in his yet to be named boat. JaMingo won 2 races on their way to a 3rd place for the day. After the 3 races Leprechaun and Brave Heart were tied atop the standings. The first place finish garnered by Brave Heart was the tiebreaker giving her the top honors for the day. Back on shore, the food was plentiful, beverages were cold and it was a beautiful evening to sit back and enjoy good company and relax.
Last week we had 2 new Scots join our fleet. John D. came to the SSS early Saturday to help rig their boats for the first time. Thanks mucho John! Welcome to the fleet Jeff and Tom!
Be sure to mark your calendars for our next fleet race on Feb 15.
