June 1 Flying Scot Races

We got the month of June kicked off with a good day of sailing and eating yesterday. John, Susan and Herb brought Big Ben out and served as RC for the fleet of 6 Flying Scots. We were not really sure what the weather would bring for the day but after a brief cooling shower as we left the docks we were treated to a great day of sailing. Winds ranged from 6-10 and around 245 degrees to 295 degrees. With the sun in and out under overcast skies the temps were quite comfortable. The Curtis’ are working a couple of kinks out getting race ready and did manage to sail through the shower twice as they headed back to the dock for repairs. The rest of us enjoyed one of those days with flat smooth water with in and out of the boat hiking. Patchwork Princess kicked up her heels to take the day followed closely by Sidewalk Express and Zoom. As fine as the sailing was, ┬áthe food was even better. Topping the usual assortment of humus and salsa, John & Susan opened our eyes to a culinary treat unseen in the fleet 36 dining experience. The combination of fresh bread, chocolate balsamic vinegar, gourmet cheese, topped with strawberry made for some mighty fine eating! Our next race date is June 15, start time 4:30.
