It was a hectic time on Saturday, April 18th for seven MCs out on the race course with the Scots.  The MC fleet was generally lost trying to find marks. In the first race, they were sent to F but one boat thought the weather mark was E.  In the second race the wind shifted to 200 deg. So the RC set the course E, B, I. Five MCs went to F and earned a DNF. Andy and Ted went to E for an easy one, two finish.” Close” only counts in Horseshoes.

The MC fleet provided a day of entertainment for the RC and Scots as they watched the MC’s start. One boat was over early twice. Another capsized in the start sequence, got it up, made the start in time only to become entangled by the boom with another boat. They spun around together managing to make the start on time. The mark rounding had some excitement as well with two MC’s almost colliding. In spite of these challenges, all had fun in the overcast shifty 10 – 14 knot sea breeze, and enjoyed the get-to-together after racing with the Scot fleet who shared their extensive food and conversation.
